The following is a list of essential oils and fluids for the NAS Defender 110. See Oil Lubricant Chart for more information about oil/fluid type and capacity.

Motor Oil: Synthetic motor oil was developed for high performance racing engines and works well in extremely cold climates. Other than that, there are no proven advantages to using synthetic motor oil versus regular motor oil.

Gearbox & Transfer Case Oil: Gearbox and transfer case oils are available in regular or synthetic formulas and fall into two main categories, ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) and MTF (Manual Transmission Fluid). ATF type F is the recommended choice for the Defender's LT77S gearbox/upgrade R380 gearbox, and transfer case LT230.

Differential Gear Oil: EP 80/90 heavy duty gear oil is the most commonly used Defender differential oil. Refer to Lucas Oil Products for additional information. A filer pump with flexible hose is a must when filling the differentials on the Defender.

Power Steering Oil: ATF type F, the same oil as recommended for your Defender's transmission. See specifications for more information.

Hi-Temperature Grease: Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease is best suited for wheel bearings, ball joints, suspensions, steering linkages, king pin, and chassis lube points. It is designed for high temperature applications and provides excellent resistance to rust, corrosion, and water washout. Maybe applied by hand or grease pump. See tools and specifications for additional recommendation.

Coolant Fluid: The ideal coolant/water mixing ratio for the Defender is 50/50.

Brake & Clutch Fluid: Use brake fluid with a minimum boiling point of 500ºF (260ºC) and complying with FMVSS 116 DOT 4. See specifications for more information.

Fuel: Minimum 92 octane rating unleaded gasoline.
